A 2004 acrylic on canvas still life painting by the French artist Alain Le Chatelier (born 1952). This highly detailed painting has a whimsical composition of an overflowing mound of fresh fruit. Highly realistic insects are depicted throughout the composition. The work is signed and dated near the right edge and is displayed in a gold-tone wooden frame.
Alain Le Chatelier studied at the Met de Penninghen and the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1970s. He is inspired by the vibrant North African colors that he experienced as a child growing up in Morocco. He is inspired by his environment, paying close attention to every detail of his surroundings and capturing the essence of real life.
