A 1985 oil and graphite on canvas painting, titled Ridiculous Composition, by Norwegian artist Beatrice Riese (1917-2004). This piece features geometric shapes within a grid-pattern in light pink, magenta, and white, resembling a map. It is displayed within a black frame and signed, dated, as well as titled on the back.

Beatrice Riese was a Norwegian artist who lived in Norway, Germany, the Republic of Ghana and eventually, Virginia. Earning her Baccalaureate for art in Paris in 1940, she developed a life-long appreciation for African Art. She went on to study at Virginia Commonwealth University and joined the the American Abstract Artists for over ten years as president. Her work is featured in galleries across the country.
