A Mid Century Modern Penguin lounge chair designed by Danish furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003). The iconic chair features a molded teak back, a cream colored upholstered seat, and a black metal frame. The Penguin lounge chair was popular in the United States and became one of the best-selling export furniture pieces from Denmark in the early 1950s. 

Ib Kofod-Larsen was a popular furniture designer who specialized in simplistic and minimalistic furniture items. Kofod-Larsen created for G-Plan, Faarup, and the Swedish furniture market throughout the 50-60s. He died in 2003.
