James Doversberger 1950s Oil on Board Cityscape Painting

A 1950s oil on board painting by the American artist James Doversberger (1928- 2017). The painting depicts a cityscape in muted yellows, blues, browns, and greens with a dark blue sky above. The painting is displayed in a gold tone and black wooden frame and is signed to the bottom left with an artist informational tag verso.

James Doversberger was born in Indiana in 1928 and after serving in thE navy following high school he graduated with an MFA from the John Herron Art School in Indianapolis. He showed his work in the Hoosier Art Salon along with countless solo shows across the Midwest with some of his pieces becoming part of the collection at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
