A 1989 oil on canvas painting by the American artist Laurie Zagon. Titled The Blue Labyrinth, this painting has an abstract composition consisting of a dark twisting black teardrop shape in the top center of the piece. Curling around this shape are swirling blue, green, mauve, orange, and yellow streaks contrasted by a white background. The piece is displayed in a black wooden frame and is signed and dated on the bottom right as well as signed, dated, and titled verso.
Born in New York, Zagon received her undergraduate degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, where she studied with artists Sam Gilliam, Salvatore Scarpitta, and Robert Moskowitz. She received her graduate degree from Syracuse University, where she studied with Friedel Dzubas and Milton Resnick.
