A 1985 lithograph by the Navajo-American artist Rudolph Carl Gorman (1931-2005). Titled Whispers, this piece features three women walking barefoot wrapped in colorful scarves against a gradient orange backdrop. Held in a wooden frame and mounted on off-white linen, this piece is signed, dated, and numbered 10/225 to the lower edge.

Born in Chinle, Arizona, Gorman grew up in a traditional Navajo hogan where he learned about his family's artistic lineage and inspired him to pursue art. After serving in the US Navy, he studied literature and art at Norther Arizona University and later went on to study at Mexico City College where he was inspired by the art of Diego Rivera. He had his first exhibition in 1963 and continued creating and exhibiting his art for 42 years.
