A 1973 etching, titled G3 by German American artist Robert Marx (1925-2020). This piece features the bust of a person with black eyes with their arm resting below them. Under the face of the figure it reads, "G3." In a wooden frame against a cream mat, this etching is signed, dated, titled, and numbered 4/25 to the lower edge.
Born in Northeim, Germany, Robert Ernst Marx was a German-American fine artist who created oil paintings, drawings, bronze casted sculptures, and etchings. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois during the 1950s. His works are in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Corcoran Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Hirschhorn Museum of Art, among others.
