Shoichi Hasegawa Abstract Intaglio Print

An abstract intaglio print by the Japanese artist Shoichi Hasegawa (1929-2023). This abstract work depicts a water scene with boats, parasailing with red and blue parachutes, and sea creates. Signed and numbered 23/130 to the lower edge, the print is displayed in a wooden frame and a white mat.

Born in Yazu, Japan, Hasegawa studied art at the Kokuga Institute in Kyoto and later moved to Paris where he studied under Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17. Since 1957, he had over 60 solo exhibitions of his works. Hasegawa's works are held in the collections of numerous museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, among others.
