William Itter 1966 Abstract Ink Drawing

$175.00

A 1966 abstract ink drawing by the American artist William Itter (1942-2025). This abstract work depicts a geometric design formed from zigzagging parallel lines that create the optical illusion of various three-dimensional shapes. Displayed in a gold tone frame and a cream mat, the drawing is unsigned. A previous frame back with signature from the drawing's original frame is attached verso.

William Itter was an artist, philanthropist, award-winning art educator and collector, who made an impact on hundreds of students during his 35-year long tenure at Indiana University. His wife, Diane Itter, was also a painter, as well as a textile artist. After her passing, he opened the William and Diane Itter Object Study at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, where he donated his collection of art and memorabilia.
