Arlé Sklar-Weinstein Signed 2004 “Crossings” Fabric Construction

$175.00

A wall hanging fabric construction by American artist Arlé Sklar-Weinstein. Signed, dated, and titled Crossings so the verso, this fabric collage features a road crossing sign most prominently. Above the sign, there is an abstracted design in yellow, green, blue, and red. The piece is unframed but has a wall hanging tab on the verso. This piece was made by Hicks as part of a fundraiser for Lamia Ink!, a not-for-profit arts organization.

Arlé Sklar-Weinstein was born in Detroit, Michigan, but moved to New York City at a young age. By the age of 7, Sklar-Weinstein began taking classes at the Parsons School of Design, followed by a high school scholarship to the NYC Museum of Modern Art’s classes for Young People. She would complete her education at NYU, continuing to exhibit her work in galleries across the city.
