A stone bust sculpture by the Zimbabwean sculptor Moses Masaya (1947-1995). This stylized bust sculpture features an exaggerated human form with a large curved hand and elongated face. The sculpture is signed to the underside.
Moses Masaya was a student of Zimbabwean sculptor Joram Mariga from 1957-59. His work is inspired by his Shona heritage. Many Shona artists began carving stone sculptures during the 1940s and 50s to attract European art collectors.
