A limited edition lithograph by American artist Jack Levine (1915-2010). Titled Brechtiana, this work depicts a woman with a black bow in her hair with other lightly sketched faces on her right side. The piece is unframed, signed lower right and numbered on the lower left 45/100.

Jack Levine was an American painter who specialized in satirical and social commentary regarding class systems and authority structures in the west. Levine enrolled in art classes at the Museum Fine Arts School of Boston and received free art lessons from Dr. Denman Ross of Harvard University who recognized his exceptional talent. Unlike many artists of the time period Levine did not stray from figural subject matter for abstract compositions. His work can now be found int he collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. among others.
