An intaglio print with embossed border by American artist Martin Barooshian (1929-2022). This abstract work depicts the side profile of a woman with stepping high with toe pointed, surrounded by abstract circular designs. Signed to the lower right and numbered 6/30 to the left, the print is displayed in a black frame and a white mat.
Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Barooshian studied art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as well as receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education from Tufts University and a Master's degree in Art History from Boston University. He also studied at Atelier 17 in Paris under Stanley William Hayter. Barooshian taught at the Pratt Institute and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. His works are in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York's Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
