A 1981 abstract oil on canvas painting by the Canadian-American artist Sidney Smiley (1912–2002). The painting has an abstract blue and white natural landscape with mountains in the background. A figure dressed in yellow is centered in the composition. Signed and dated "SMILEY 81" to the lower right corner, the work is displayed in a black frame. 

Sidney Smiley began his career in music, attending Seattle’s Cornish School of Music, the University of Washington, and the Chicago Conservatory of Music. Smiley was an accomplished musician that played for the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra and served as concertmaster and first violinist with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. During the 1960s, Smiley switched his artistic pursuits to painting.
