A mezzotint and color etching print by German artist Wolfgang Gafgen (1936-2024). This piece features a nude female figure sitting in an armchair with her head in her hands against a grid background in the lower third and a floating blue and green design in the upper third. Unframed, the print is signed to the lower right and marked "Epreuve d'artiste" for "artist's proof" lower left.

Wolfgang Gafgen was a photographer and printmaker from Hamburg, Germany who studied at the Hamburg School of Fine Arts and the Stuttgart Academy before moving to Paris. His work was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art, La Louviere, Belgium, and at the Art Center Le Lait d'Albi, France. He went on to become a professor of painting and graphics for over twenty years. To this day, his work can be found in galleries around the world.
