Bertil Vallien Boda Glass "Rainbow" Bowl

A glass "Rainbow" bowl designed by the Swedish glass artist Bertil Vallien (born 1938) for Kosta Boda. This primarily white bowl has a few colorful stripes running along the exterior. It is marked “Boda B. Vallien” to underside and has a Kosta Boda sticker on its exterior.
Bertil Vallien is a highly respected glass artist and designer. In the 1950s, he studied under Stig Lindberg at the art school Konstfack in Stockholm. Best known for his work at Kosta Boda, Vallien is celebrated for sand casted sculptures. Many of these sculptures have the repeated motif faces.
