An acrylic on wood panel painting by the American artist Betsy Stirratt. Titled Early Autumn Sky II, this abstract work depicts stripes of autumnal color in red, orange, yellow, white, and black. Unframed, the painting is signed and titled verso.
Originally from New Orleans, Stiratt received her MFA from Indiana University in 1983. Her works have been exhibited at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C., The Mütter Museum in Philadelphia, the Center for Book Arts in New York, among others. She was a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts's Visual Artist Fellowship, as well as receiving awards from the American Craft Council and the Indiana Arts Commission. She is also Director Emeritus of Indiana University's Grunwald Gallery of Art.
