A 1980 porcelain plate or bowl with design by the Danish artist and designer Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006) for Rosenthal. The plate has a blue background and a design with two figures wearing colorful clothing and holding flowers. The plate is marked to the underside “100 Jahre Rosenthal (100 Years Rosenthal)” and “hergestelt im Jubliäumsjahr (manufactured in the Jubliee year) VIII 1979-VII 1980.”
Bjørn Wiinblad was born in Denmark but has been praised worldwide for his designs. He attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Wiinblad was named Man of the Year in New York in 1985 and was awarded the American-Scandinavian Foundation's Cultural Prize of 1995.
