Harry Hilson Abstract Batik


An abstract wax painting batik by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Signed "hilson" to the bottom left corner, biomorphic shapes in tan, dark gray, black, and red accents are used throughout this abstract work. The batik is displayed in a black wooden frame.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
