Composed of gouache, graphite, and colored pencil on paper, vibrant lines of color illustrate biomorphic shapes over a red ground in this abstract work. The painting is signed and dated “Hilson ‘81” to the lower right corner.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.

Worn edges. Small stain to bottom left edge of paper. Stray colored pencil in margin, most notably to the right side. Stray graphite in margin.
