Robert Jergens Signed 1978 Abstract Ink Marker Drawing


A 1978 abstract ink marker drawing by the American artist Robert Jergens  (1938-2023). Signed and dated to the lower edge, this abstract work depicts black and aqua blue squiggle lines that form biomorphic shapes throughout the composition. The drawing is presented behind a white mat in a silver tone metal frame. 

Robert Jergens was known for mod figure printmaking. Jergens attended Yale University where he received his M.A and then later taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art.  He had special interest in the relationship between observed reality and abstract art.

Condition notes:

Some scuffs to frame. Toning to the paper. Some foxing along bottom edge.
