Harry Hilson Signed 1950s Abstract Ink Drawing of a Dog


A 1950s abstract ink drawing by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). The drawing depicts the artist's dog, Ginger. In the drawing, Ginger is seated in a chair at a table against a heavily patterned background. A glass sits on the table in front of the dog. Signed to the upper right corner, the drawing is displayed in a black frame with a white mat. 

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios were found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.



17” x 21” x 1.5” (frame); 10” x 13.5” (image).

Condition notes:

Some toning and foxing spots to the paper. Pinholes and some small holes and a tear along the upper edge. Minor wear to the frame.
