Harry Hilson Signed 1966 Abstract Watercolor Painting of a Fish


A 1966 abstract watercolor and ink painting of a fish by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). A round yellow fish with orange scales is depicted in the center of the composition with orange striping in the background. Signed and dated 1966 near the bottom edge, the painting is displayed in a white frame and behind a white mat. 

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.

Condition notes:

Scratches to the frame and plexiglass. Chip to the frame’s finish. Some buckling/waviness to the paper including some creasing from the waviness.
