A 1984 mixed media drawing titled Social Renewal by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Signed, dated, and titled to the bottom edge, this work is made using charcoal, graphite, crayon, and watercolor. The intricate design covers the entire composition, complimented by a white mat and black frame.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
