Harry Hilson Signed Abstract Wax Painting Batik


A wax painting batik by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). This abstract work has a blue background punctuated with a pink and orange angular shape to the center. An orange line accents the shape to the left. Signed to the lower right, the work is displayed in a black wooden frame.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
