A ceramic horse designed by the German ceramicist Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker (1921-2010). This abstracted, brown horse stretches its neck and looks up. Its legs are short and the hind leg is marked with a Schäffenacker sticker.
Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker completed an apprenticeship with sculptor Rudolf Pauschinger before opening his own studio "Atelier Schäffenacker." During the second half of the 1950s, Schäffenacker shifted his focus to making ceramic wall panels, primarily with figurative motifs in relief. Schäffenacker continued to create until 1993, when his kiln fell into disrepair.
