Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker Ceramic Horses

$150.00

A pair of ceramic horses designed by German ceramic artist Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker (1921-2010). Each abstracted horse is depicted with its neck stretched and their heads held straight out. Each horse is marked with a Schäffenacker sticker to their hind legs.

Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker completed an apprenticeship with sculptor Rudolf Pauschinger before opening his own studio "Atelier Schäffenacker." During the second half of the 1950s, Schäffenacker shifted his focus to making ceramic wall panels, primarily with figurative motifs in relief. Schäffenacker continued to create until 1993, when his kiln fell into disrepair.
