An abstract acrylic on canvas painting by the American artist James Massena March (1953-2021). Titled Before the Big Bang, this abstract work depicts a frenetic array of colorful shapes and strong brushwork floating against a white background. Signed and titled to the verso, the painting is displayed in a black wooden frame.

James Massena March was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent most of his life living in Ohio. March attended The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Rhode Island School of Design for some time, eventually receiving his Bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University and Master's of Fine Art at Kent State University. His work is in the collections of PNC Bank, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University.

Condition notes:

Some light abrasions to the face of the painting. Minor wear around the edges, including chips to the bottom right corner. Some scuffs to frame.
