Jordan Mozer “Papa” Modernist Leather Settee
$7,500.00
A Papa modernist leather settee designed by American designer Jordan Mozer (born 1958). The angular design features a dark brown leather seat and back attached to six hand-carved tapered wooden legs. The back is open with two cast aluminum supports for the leather backrest.
Jordan Mozer studied sculpture and painting at the Art Institute of Chicago and received a degree in architecture from the University of Illinois. He specializes in industrial design and owns his own architecture firm, Jordan Mozer + Associates.
This specific piece comes from the Chicago-based restaurant Papa Cenar, which closed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic but featured one-of-a-kind designs by Mozer. In 2018, Jordan Mozer + Associates (JMA) designed a restaurant called Twain, inspired by the 1920s and a folksy, Midwestern vibe. Once that restaurant's chef relocated, the restaurant was renovated to shift the focus towards Mediterranean cuisine and renamed Papa.
