A 1974 abstract lithograph by the Mexican artist Leonardo Nierman (1932-2023). Titled Flight to the Sun, this abstract print features a colorful array of flame-like designs. Signed to the lower right and numbered 14/250 to the lower left, the work is displayed in a black and gold tone wooden frame.

Born in Mexico City to Eastern European immigrants, Nierman, whose full name is Leonardo Nierman Mendeljis, originally wanted to be a violinist but instead studied mathematics and physics at the National University of Mexico. He began his painting career by painting murals and went on receive numerous awards and accolades, including the Palme D'Or des Beaux Arts of Monaco in 1969 and being named a lifetime member of the Royal Society of the Arts in London. Nierman's works have been exhibited worldwide including at Mexico City's Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Detroit Institute of Arts, as well as many others.
