A 1970 Op Art serigraph print by the British artist Michael Challenger (born 1939). Titled Vexations, this abstract work depicts green rectangular shapes lining a purple floating square. Signed and dated to the lower right, the print is titled and numbered 59/75 to the lower left. The print is displayed in a black frame and a white mat.
Born in Kent, Challenger studied art at the Goldsmiths' College of Art as well as the Slade School of Art. He went on to teach at both institutions, in addition to teaching at the Chesterfield College of Art. Challenger is a member of the Printmakers' Council of Great Britain. His works are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Tate Britain.
