Patrick Loughran Signed 1981 Postmodern Studio Pottery Wall Charger


A 1981 studio pottery wall charger by the American ceramic artist Patrick Loughran (born 1948). This terracotta wall piece features a Postmodern design with layered shapes and bold designs. Signed and dated to the verso, the plate has a hanging wire located verso.

Originally from Detroit, Loughren has an undergraduate degree in Political Scince at Columbia University and a graduate degree in Sculpture and Crafts from Teachers College, Columbia University. He went on to teach in New Mexico, New York, and Chicago and eventually moved to France where he taught at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art in Limoges.
