A mixed media oil paint and chalk pastel canvas painting by Japanese-American artist Reiko Sakagami Baum (1927-2021). Softly blended hues of red, pink, orange, gray, and black intermingle in this ethereal abstract painting. The painting is unsigned and is framed in a black wooden frame.
Lifelong artist, Reiko Sakagami Baum was originally from Japan and was known for painting. She attended art school in New York where she met her future artist husband, Michael Baum. The Baum's owned a framing company before becoming the owners and horse breeders of Man O' War Farm in Lexington, KY, where they lived out their lives.

Condition notes:
Some scuffs to frame. Wear to edges of canvas. A section of the canvas has been relined verso with several tears repaired along the edges of the canvas. Some creases on edges of canvas where painting has been re-stretched. Small areas of craquelure present. Other signs of age appropriate wear.
