Ulla Winblad Allingsås Keramik Model 280 Owl Wall Plaque

A modern 280 wall plaque designed by Swedish-American artist Ulla Winblad (1934-1992) for Allingsås Keramik. This plaque depicts the face of a stylized owl in the center of a grid of brown and white lines. The piece is marked "U. Winblad" to the lower right as well as marked “Allingsås Keramik 280” and “U Winblad” verso. The plaque hangs from a leather cord at the top.

Winblad was raised in Helsingborg, Sweden and immigrated to Washington in 1967. She trained with Jie Johnsson's pottery in Sweden and received a master's from Konstindustriskolan in Goteborg. She was a designer and manager at Alingasas Pottery for 10 years. She was also a member of the Washington Potters Association and Northwest Designer Craftsmen.
