Yaacov Agam “Twelve Tribes of Israel: Asher” Serigraph Print

A serigraph print from the Twelve Tribes of Israel series by Israeli artist Yaacov Agam (1928-2026). This colorful work features rows of geometric shapes with stylized Hebrew letters at the center that read "Asher," one of the twelve tribes of Israel. Displayed in a black metal frame and a white mat, the print is signed and numbered 38/99 to the lower edge.

Born in Rishon LeZion, Agam studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. While there he was a student of the Israeli artist Mordecai Ardon. In 1949, he moved to Zurich and then later to Paris. In Paris, he had his first solo exhibition in 1953 and continued to exhibition throughout his lifetime. In the 1970s and 80s, retrospective exhibitions of Agam's works were held at the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris and at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Many of his public art works can be seen throughout the world.
