An oil on canvas painting by the American artist Zanne Hochberg (1931-2001). Layers of vibrant color and frenetic brushwork dominate this abstract painting. Blocks of color in deep blues, greens, red, yellow and white are stacked throughout the painting. The painting is displayed in a white wooden frame.
Born in Rochester, New York, Hochberg graduated with her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her graduate degree from the Souther Methodist University. After moving to Dallas, Texas during the 1950s, Hochberg began pursuing her career as an artist and exhibited widely during her lifetime. Her works are in the collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Austin Contemporary Art Museum, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, as well as others.
Provenance: This painting was acquired directly from the artist by the art collector and art dealer Jan Weiner of Topeka, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. An Affidavit of Provenance and Authorship attesting to the authenticity of the painting is included with the painting.
