A 1947 still life lithograph by the American artist Prentiss Taylor (1907-1991). Titled Seated Serenade, the print features a still life composition of a guitar on a chair with a blanket and sheet music. Signed, dated, and titled along the bottom edge, the work is displayed in a brown frame and cream mat.
Prentiss Taylor began to study lithography in 1931 at the Art Students League of New York. Taylor was a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists and established the Washington Wheat Press. Taylor also worked as an art therapist and had his contributions to the medical field praised in the February 1950 American Journal of Psychiatry.
